Linda Samuels is a Canadian abstract figurative artist, author and lifelong creative whose work explores emotion, resilience and the often-unexpected paths life takes. Originally from Montréal, Québec, she now creates from her home studio in Kingston, Ontario.

A self-taught artist, Linda began exploring abstraction in 2018, developing a particular affinity for mixed media acrylic while continuing to embrace the fluidity of watercolour. Her work blends figuration and abstraction through layers of texture, expressive mark-making and contrast.

These themes are especially evident in her Empowerment series, an exploration of the emotional challenges faced by women and the strength, vulnerability and resilience found within them. In 2021, works from the series were exhibited at the Florence Biennale in Florence, Italy, followed by a digital exhibition with M.A.D.S. Art Gallery in Milan.

Linda’s creative work has also extended beyond the canvas. She is the co-author of three books in the Creative Series, combining her love of art, design and creative expression.

More recently, her own experience with life’s unexpected turns inspired her newest book, Well, That Wasn’t Part of the Plan: A Guide for Navigating Life’s Bullshit — a guided journal about navigating change, reconnecting with yourself and discovering what might come next.

Today, through Ellèsse | The Art of Living, Linda brings these worlds together — art, writing, creativity and personal reinvention — with the belief that creativity isn’t simply something we make. It can also be a way of creating a life that feels like our own.
