A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.

― Paul Cezanne

Canadian based abstract figurative artist Linda Samuels’ passion for boldness and colour is often seen in her work. A native of Montreal QC, she now resides in Kingston, ON where she works out of her home studio.

She is a self-taught artist, who started her abstract journey in 2018. While she appreciates the fluidness of watercolour, her preferred medium is mixed media acrylic. Her ability to mesh figuration with abstraction, is evident in her compelling collection titled Empowerment. Her collection shows the many emotional challenges women are faced with. She has a capability to transfer the emotion from the subject, onto the canvas, allowing the viewer a glimpse into their world.

In 2021, Linda’s Empowerment work was exhibited at the Florence Biennale, which was followed by a digital exhibition at M.A.D.S. Gallery in Milan.
