This piece was created for my granddaughter, which made it a particularly special commission for me. Inspired by ballet, I wanted to capture both the grace and strength of a dancer—the quiet moment behind the performance.
I built the background with layers of texture and moody tones, incorporating fleur-de-lis as a nod to our French heritage, then added touches of gold to give the piece warmth and a sense of old-world beauty.
Creating something for someone you love brings a different kind of meaning to the process. This one will always be especially close to my heart.
